Teacher vs. Student 5K Challenge

The 5th annual Teacher vs. Student 5K…is an event that continues to grow every year. Register now to be a part an event that promotes healthy living for the students, teachers and Cromwell community.

The 4th annual event is planned for Saturday, May 17, 2014.


This event is hosted by the Cromwell Cross Country teams and was created to give the students and teachers of Cromwell Public Schools, as well as the community, a chance to show their physical skills while promoting healthy physical activity for both children and adults. All of the proceeds from this race go directly to the Cromwell High School boys and girls cross country teams.The event was created by the Cromwell High School Cross Country coaches, Doug McGough and Rich Dean, this race hopes to provide both funding and awareness to the cross country teams. Register early and save! Online registration will be open through May 10th. Purchase a sport wicking shirt with your online registration and receive a special price. Limited shirts will be available for $15 on race day. Race day registration will begin on May 17th at 8:00 am and will be $25 for everyone. Those that are pre-registered should plan to arrive no later than 8:30 am. The gun will go off at 9:00 am. The race course will be the same as the high school cross country team's 5k course. The course is great for both viewing and running fast times. It is a 2 loop grass/trail course, with only a 75 foot elevation, and an on track finish.


Please be aware that there will be no parking at the high school on the day of the event. The main parking for the event will be at Edna C. Stevens school with overflow at Woodside Intermediate School. Check out the parking section for more information about event parking.

Packet pickup will be the day of the race on May 17th, from 8:00 am - 8:50 am at the Packet Pickup tent. Results will be posted online as soon after the race as possible. Be sure to stick around for the award ceremony at the completion of the race. If you have questions, please contact us.

Teacher vs. Student 5K Course

This is the Cromwell cross country teams’ home course. It consists of two loops around the grounds of the school, including a loop through the woods on the edge of the property. All major turns in the course will be well marked on the day of the race.

Event Parking

There will be NO PARKING at Cromwell High School on the day of the event. Main parking for race day will be at Edna C. Stevens Elementary School at 25 Court Street. Overflow parking will be at Woodside Intermediate School at 30 Woodside Road. The race start is an easy walk from both the main and overflow parking areas.

To get to the start from the Edna C. Stevens lot, walk around the school to the athletic fields.(Towards Orchard Road) The start will be in the athletic fields located behind the school.


To get to the start from the Woodside lot, walk left out of the driveway and head down Woodside Road. At the intersection with Court St. Walk straight across to Orchard Street and follow it to the end. The start will be in the athletic fields at the end of Orchard.
