Connecticut River Valley 5K Course

This is the Cromwell cross country teams’ home course. It consists of two loops around the grounds of the school, including a loop through the woods on the edge of the property. All major turns in the course will be well marked on the day of the race.

Teacher vs. Student 5K Challenge

Returning for the 2013 cross country season, the 3rd annual Connecticut River Valley Championships is looking to expand this event even further…expecting to max out at 20 teams this year.

The 5th annual event is planned for September 19, 2015.

This event is hosted by the Cromwell Cross Country teams. The goal of the event is to provide a regional Saturday, meet in an easy to get to location. Cromwell’s course is great for both viewing and running fast times. The course is a 2 loop grass/trail course, with only a 75 foot elevation, and an on track finish. In addition to the course’s user friendly design, it will serve as “Almost” a home meet for many schools because of the central location within the state.

At the event there will be plenty of parking at the two neighboring schools (Edna C Stevens and Woodside) for spectators. Competing schools will be able to park their busses right on the high school campus. There is plenty of field space available for all teams to set up team tents. Concessions hosted by the Cromwell Cross Country Booster Club will be available for purchase along with event titled wicking t-shirts.

The winning girl’s and boy’s teams will receive a great team trophy, as will the top varsity girl and boy finishers overall. The top 25 varsity runners from the girls and boys varsity races and the top 10 from the girls and boys JV races will receive a special CT River Valley Championships WICKING T-Shirt!
